a message from Eli Ford's sister -

Jerry,

We are very appreciative to you guys for just acknowledging Eli's role in your platoon. It truly means a lot. Thank you for taking the time to make sure this is a memorable service for us. He always felt that he never got recognition from the public on his role in the war. I understand that that is the way many of our vets from that era feel. My heart goes out to all of you and I am grateful that you all were there to protect our country.

Maybe we can get a picture of the hymnals, graveside, and presentation to you. If so I'll make sure you get copies. Thank you for remembering my brother in such a special way.

I live in Spartanburg, SC. It's about a 140 miles west of Cheraw. If you are ever in the area or any of the guys from the platoon give me a call

Shirley

Hi Jerry,
I'm early in the morning for work and we just got back from Cheraw. In other words it's been an extremely long day. Nevertheless I wanted to take just a moment to let you know how beautiful the services were. Charlie did an excellent job. My entire family really did feel the love that you guys shared amongst each other. Thank you all for all that you've done.
Sincerely,
Shirley

Thank you so much for putting this web site together. My brother was Chris Minton in Echo Company. He was the British guy who flew the Union Jack over his tent. My family and I would love to get in touch with anyone who remembers him. I found the pictures about him in the photo albums, and as tragic as they are, I'm deeply grateful to have a better idea of what happened, and that you all cared for him. Thank you all.

Served in the 6/31 D 1st Platoon, through February of 1970. Capt. Keaton was the Best Company Commander you could ever have. I was transferred to the 101st Airborne and got wounded on the A Shau Ridge

I'd like to extend the family's thanks to Domi Yacapin who recently provided a couple of photos of Cpt. Everett D. Keaton. With that in mind I would like to ask that if you have photos from your time in country would you please go through them. You too may have photos of our dad.I would like to put together a CD of photos to share with his grandchildren. Your photos wil allow us to share in his life away from us and give us insight into his time with you. You may email them to me or contact me and I will provide a mailing adress so you can send a copy. We will be in your debt if you can help with this project.Thanks. Debby
