Dennis Fisher served in Vietnam as a Combat Infantryman with the 9^th Division, 6^th Battalion, 31^st Infantry Regiment, Alpha Company, 3^rd Platoon, 3^rd Squad.  He worked the Area Operations in and around Dong Tam, Can Giuoc, and FSB Gettysburg (Parrots Beak near the Cambodian border in the Plain of Reeds).

Dennis distinguished himself in a night ambush patrol when he defended his comrades in hand-to-hand combat against an armed Vietcong insurgent.  He was awarded the Bronze Star for that action and undoubtedly saved at least 2-American Soldier’s lives that night. I know, I was one of the soldiers he saved, Chuck McCammon.
