Captain Keaton commanded the 6/31 Delta Company late 1969 to 1970.

Tribute to Everett Dennis Keaton, I met Dennis in the 'O Club' at Can Giuoc (shack with a dirt floor and a few chairs). He asked where I was from and I told him, 'a little piss ass town in southern Ohio, you never heard of, Chillicothe.' He laughed and told me he was from Waverly, a little town even more piss assed than Chillicothe; 20 miles south!
I did not serve in the field with Captain Keaton, but I am told he was good. We were discussing whether to bring our newly born children to Hawaii. He decided to have his daughter, Denise, come with his wife in November,1969; I chose not to when I met my wife in December, 1969. As it turned out that would be the only time Dennis got to see his daughter. I on the other hand would get to spend my life with my son. This is the most troubling part of war, why some are chosen others are not. It will always sadden me.
Several years ago I read an article in the Columbus Dispatch where Captain Keaton was recognized as the 'most highly decorated veteran' in Pike county. I had been in the presence of greatness.

Respectfully, Dan Kelley

According to Domi they were taken a few days before CPT Keaton was KIA.
