The family of Timothy C. Hannigan invites you to attend a 40th anniversary memorial service for Tim at All Saints (formerly St Partick) Catholic Church in Lockport, NY. The Mass will be at 10:30 A.m. on Sunday August 10th, 2008. The church is located at 76 Church St. Lockport, NY. After mass, the family will be going to the Holiday Inn on Transit Rd (about a mile from the church) for brunch.

Al Olson and Dale Mills are planning to attend the memorial service and are looking for a couple more guys who would like to ride with them.  Please contact either one if you are interested in going with them.  Bob Smith will be attending, flying in from St. Louis.

We will be sending a floral tribute to the Memorial Service from all of the Brothers of the 6-31st.

We received this note from Al Olson, after he attended the memorial service for Tim.

Dale Mills and I arrived back home in Boone about 7:00PM this evening. Dale will be leaving for Macon Ga
in the morning after spending the night with us in Boone. Joining Dale and I in Lockport NY were Bob Smith,
Don Rutowski, Bill and Janet Owen. The memorial for Tim was both emotionally moving and also very heart
warming. The Hannigan family accepted us all as "Family" and I think I can speak for all of us when I say
we are truly adopted BROTHERS. My words tonight are road traveled tired and the fatigue will not let me truly
express my love for the Hannigan family. I can tell you that remembering Tim is a daily battle that forever
dwells in my mind... this experience was healing for me and gave some semblance of peace to my thoughts, even
though tears flow as I type.

Terry, Mary, Joe, Patrick, Annie, Francis.... THANK YOU. You are truly an "All American" family. I will rest
tonight with the warming feeling that comes from having touched and having been touched by Tim's Spirit
through the extension of your love.

Mary Doyon, please know that the flowers provided by the 6-31 were beautiful and most appreciated.
Once again we were lead by our CO Capt. (Col) Bill Owen as he placed the flowers on Tim's grave. He remains our strength
and we were all so honored that he joined us in tribute to Tim. (We knew he would). Good night to all may you rest
tonight in Love and Peace.  Al Olson

On behalf of Tim’s family I want to extend this somewhat informal thank you to you and the organization for your efforts in announcing the memorial for Tim and for providing the lovely flower arrangement.  The flowers were taken from the church altar following the memorial mass and placed on Tim’s grave by Col. Bill Owen and Al Olson, Dale Mills, Don Rutkowski, and Bob Smith.   There were several members of Tim’s immediate and extended family in attendance.  By far, the most moving and highest tribute to Tim’s memory came from the presence and kind words of these five outstanding men.  It was coincidence that placed them together in the snows of Ft Lewis and the swamps of Vietnam , but it was their love for a fallen brother that brought them together last weekend.

On behalf of Tim’s family, I again thank you for all your organization has done to support these heroes.

During the 2009 31st Infantry Regiment Association reunion, Terry Hannigan, Tim's brother gave us this photo.

The photo was taken at the May 69 Award ceremony for Tim.  Center of the photo is Al Olson, Terry told me this story...
Al's sister was getting married that same day in May of 69.  Al had a decision to make... his sister's wedding or
Tim's Award ceremony... apparently there was no question in Al's mind, he would attend the Award ceremony for his 6-31 brother.
