Harry Whitmore: I would like to add the following comments about Sgt Kenneth Brown, He was a brave young man,,,often risking his own life to treat the wounded when we were all trying to keep from getting shot ourselves,,,the night he was killed is engrained in my memory for life,,,we had been ambushed outside the Fire Base at Vin Kim and had taken 2 KIA's and were ordered to come back into the firebase because there was only 4 of us left,,,,Doc asked me if he could sleep in my bunk and I said of course (since I wasn't going to sleep myself) and he was killed that night by an enemy mortar,,,,I look forward to seeing him in heaven, I know he will be there waiting on all of us,,,,he was a friend as well as an outstanding soldier,,,,one I was proud to serve with. |
